*Technically Germany but he moved to Ireland when he was a kid. He had a German accent and everything, but his passport and 21 years of his life say "I am Irish". So to keep it simple: Ireland.
A train and a pleasant stroll.
Oh, how did I get hired? A Recruiting-App and three very pleasant interviews. After studying at DUT in Dublin, completing internships at Telcom and ANS. I got the wonderful opportunity in 2015 to hone my skills on a wide variety of different internal and external projects at Virtual Access. Finally, I was offered and accepted a role on the team at Qualcomm in Frankfurt, helping with the rollout of 5G across Europe. Which then of course led me to the wonderful folks at Sensory Minds.
I am a DevOps engineer.
I am the plumber of the IT world, I pipe all the glorious code Sensory Minds produces to the customer. The technologies that store, deploy and maintain code have been a constant fixture of my career. This has lead me to develop a fascination for these technologies and dare I say, a passion for fixing digital pipelines, to use this analogy one last time.
The people.
I have been met with compassion, understanding and humor. Everyone has been so generous with their time and knowledge. I always feel that if I ever get stuck, help is a slack message away or in more normal times a brief stroll over to someone’s desk. There is not a feeling of “Why do you not know this?” it is more “You don’t know, let me teach you” or “Oh ok. Well I don’t know either, lets figure this out”. Also and in my humble opinion the most important thing. Sparkling water on tap. It is truly luxurious. I have never been more hydrated.
Slack, Google meets and a surprising amount of Star Wars gifs.
